Welcome Mrs. Cribbs
Hello Sunrise Community,
My name is Amy Cribbs, and I wanted to share my excitement in being selected as your new Assistant to the Principal.  Sunrise Elementary has a wonderful reputation in the Cherry Creek School District for its dedication to students and families, and I am honored to be part of this team.  An education from Sunrise Elementary makes all future opportunities possible.  It is my wish that this letter gives you a picture of who I am as a person and educator until we can meet.
As a young child my dad read to me every night and instilled in me a love of reading that, to this day, endures.  It was during those story filled nights that I began to dream about becoming a teacher.  I wanted to help others unlock the magic and power of reading.
Professionally, the Cherry Creek School District has been my home since 1996.  I have taught first grade, second grade, technology, and, for the past eight years, I have worked helping teachers with their own professional growth.  I have learned alongside students in every grade, kindergarten through fifth, and enjoy watching students and teachers grow.  Hearing from former students who have graduated high school and college is extremely rewarding.  It makes me smile to hear how their elementary years influenced their lives.
Personally, I have been married for seventeen years to my wonderful husband Kent and we have two boys, Story, 11, and Fox, 6.  Life at my house is full of joy and never dull.  We love Colorado and enjoy fishing, camping, and hiking in the mountains as much as possible.
I am excited for the 2013-2014 school year. Thank you for sharing your lives with us each and every day.

Sincerely,
Ms. Amy Cribbs
